Strengthening our connection to the community through service
One of the joys of being a smaller, owner-operated business is feeling connected to the community we serve. We strive to honor that connection in two important ways. One is to always do right by our customers. The other is to contribute to the larger community whenever we can.
These are some of the efforts we’re proud to be a part of.
For the 2nd year in a row, we teamed up with Must Ministries for their annual food drive serving kids who experience food insecurity. We matched every kids in need.
We asked Cherokee County Senior Services if any of their clients risked not having reliable heat this winter. They connected us with Rachel C., who happened to be one of our customers and whose HVAC system of 20+ had been racking up repair bills. We were delighted to gift her with a complete Goodman heating and cooling system.
We were grateful for the opportunity to help Brandi, who is a single mother attending nursing school. A snag with her financial aid led to some budget challenges just as the holidays were coming up. We were so glad to be able to provide a tree and some gifts for her two young sons, as well as assist with her winter utility bills.
In a year that was challenging for so many, we were honored to be able to help Mary with a new furnace. Her heating unit had not been working for 3 years and she was also concerned about carbon monoxide leaks if she did turn it on. We are happy that now Mary will be comfortable and safe each winter!
Nearly 90 percent of Hasty Elementary School children rely on the Cherokee County School District’s Summer Meals program. To help with funding, we donated $5 for every residential customer who had service or maintenance done. We were happy to raise over $2700 for this vital program.
Each Christmas season, Fish 104.7 connects the radio station’s listeners with people in need to fulfill a wish. We were able to help out a family who experienced a devastating illness and job loss by replacing their nonfunctioning HVAC system with a new one. We look forward to fulfilling many wishes in the years to come.
We asked the Comfort Zone community to nominate a student hero, someone who goes above and beyond by being of service to others. The winner, Morgan Hughes, received $500, and two runners-up each received $50 in recognition of their good works.
